I work in a molecular biology lab so this heating/cooling and mixing device is very convenient for quickly heating while homogenizing samples. It is possible to set different temperatures, times, and rotation intensities. Temperature ranges from 15 to 100 degrees Celsius. It can hold set conditions for a specific time or continuously. The equipment can save your preferences so it's not necessary to program each time you use it. In my lab, we use it a lot for DNA extraction from agarose gels and for heating DNA elution buffer. This model can hold up to 24 samples in 1.5 to 2 mL tubes. It beeps when the program finishes.

Summary

The Good

Holds up to 24 samples and fast heating.

The Bad

Too expensive, and cooling feature is not very fast.

The Bottom Line

Overall this is equipment is great, and can expedite a few steps of your DNA extraction for example. Even though it is quite expensive, it does come with other features that most heating blocks do not, such as cooling, mixing and saving programmed preferences. I would recommend this for a molecular biology lab.
