We previously found a small metabolite that boosts energy expenditure in mice. Interestingly this metabolite is synthesized from the gut microbiota. Our current project is to identify the bacterial strain(s) that does this job. We use this trace mineral supplement to culture individual bacterial strains purchased from ATCC. This supplement is easy-to-use, consistent, and cheap. Highly recommended.
