Actins are globular multi-functional proteins that can form microfilaments. It has 6 different actin isoforms and is involved in the contractile apparatus of smooth muscle. It is a highly conserved protein and is found in nearly all mammals. Mutations caused by this gene cause a variety of vascular diseases, such as thoracic aortic disease, coronary artery disease, stroke and multisystemic smooth muscle dysfunction syndrome. Here we check the time course effect of Alpha-Smooth Muscle Actin expression by chemoattractant.

We performed western blot and detect, analyzed the alpha smooth muscle actin expression. We found that there is a a time dependent increase of alpha smooth muscle actin expression by chemoattractant.
