If you need to fix your cells, this fixable dye allows you to stain them for viability first and then fix them. Here I was checking the percentage of Tregs in my cell population so I needed to fix/perm the cells to stain for Foxp3.

Having to do an extra 15minute incubation and extra washes is a little annoying

The Bottom Line

This is a pretty good product, but I wish it could be used alongside your general surface staining panel so that the extra incubation and washes weren't necessary. Regardless, it serves its purpose and helps me distinguish the live population.
