Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Human sample collection and storage

Starting Material

Human peripheral blood

Tips

Not much blood is needed to fill each 10 ul tip (less than one drop); Avoid oversaturating each collection tip to avoid a mess.

Results Summary

Following these instructions will ensure quality results: Open the 2-sampler cartridge within the kit, and touch the drop to the first collection tip. One or two drops should be sufficient to fill each of the tips. Allow the next drop of blood to form and touch the second collection tip. Be sure to allow each drop of blood to form on the finger before touching the collection tip. Do not excessively saturate the tip with blood.

Summary

The Good

The kits are easy to use, can be shipped by mail, and ensure volume calibrated blood draw (here 10 ul, but other volumes are avilable). The sales reps are keen, informative, and great to work with for study planning.

The Bad

The kits are expensive but available in packages of multiple sizes (10 kits, etc) which may reduce the price per package.

The Bottom Line

If affordable, the Neoteryx sample collection kits are a great tool for collecting quality human specimens! We are using them to conduct 'contactless' sample collections for an ongoing study, and the kit continues to serve us beautifully.
