This rabbit polyclonal antibody from synthetic peptide corresponding to Mouse Caspase-1 aa 100-200 conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin was great to work for both western blot and IHC samples. In particular, I used it for mouse spleen tissue lysate western, and whole spleen IHC and both worked great. However, I recommend using a high dilution into at least 1-2 ug/ml for experiments, to achieve the best result.

Results Summary

Using this rabbit polyclonal to Caspase-1antibody, I am able to look at caspase-1 level in mouse spleen both through western blot and IHC. It gives a confident result that the level in western blot and IHC matches. It gives an observed band size of about 50kDa, relatively close to the predicted size of 45kDa. And it also has several background bands but not significant. However, I have not tried other mice tissues or organs, neither tried to use it with other animal species.

Summary

The Good

Works both with western blot and IHC.

The Bad

High dilution and background.

The Bottom Line

This rabbit polyclonal anti-caspase-1 antibody works with mouse spleen in both Western Blot and IHC. It detects a major band in Western Blot with similar size to the predicted size of caspase-1.
