I have used this for protein sample preparation for PAGE. This is a very good and standard protein reducing agent before SDS-PAGE. This breaks disulfide bond and allows to migrate without the influence due to secondary structure.

5% vol/vol. Use under the hood and discard leftover there as well.
This is a common reducing agent but very efficient. I got very got results after using in my protein lysate.
