I teach at a small liberal arts college and am the only microbiologist in my department. In addition to teaching microbiology with a weekly laboratory, I have hosted over 80 undergraduate students in my laboratory. Equipment in my lab needs to be easy to use, easy to clean, sturdy, and reliable. I have found Amerex to be a company that responds quickly and thoroughly to my questions and requests and this incubator to be the more reliable workhorse for 20+ years!

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Microbiology cultures: liquid in vessels ranging from 4 liters to 1 mL

Protocol Overview

The gyromax 767 is the workhorse shaking incubator in my lab. It has been running nearly continuously since I purchased it. I needed a new thermocouple about 10 years ago and the company sent the replacement and instructions so that our shop manager fixed it in no time.

The Bad

The Bottom Line

You will NEVER go back to the clamps and the different types of screws that you use for various flasks - that aren't very tight anyway and so you have to stuff paper towels to make sure the flasks fit well. The universal rack is awesome and so easy to use. You will wonder why you put up with those old clamps for so long!
