Attune™ NxT Flow Cytometer

Catalog Number:

Attune NxT Flow Cytometer

I am an immunologist working with very rare populations of cells such as plasmablast/ plasma cells. In order to acquire enough of these cells to be able to analyze them for several markers, I spend many hours passing samples in flow cytometers. So, when the institute acquired the Attune NxT that due to Acoustic Focusing was suppose to allow the acquisition of 30000 events per second, instead of the usual 8000-10000, I was very happy and excited. But it turns out that this is not true, and that actually the machine has a terrible performance giving rise to results that are different than the ones obtained with different machines and that also vary when increasing the speed.

The Bad

Everything. The machine does not work. The software has many bugs.

The Bottom Line

During the demonstration people from ThermoFisher could not make the machine work. Our other cytometers are used almost 24/7, but still nobody in the institute is using this machine.
