My research involves evaluation of drugs against signaling pathways such as STAT3. I used phospho-STAT3 antibody (9131) for western blotting of lysates from breast and ovarian cancer cells and struggled greatly in getting bands. At first, I thought endogenous levels were low; however, I used a different antibody (9145) which was much better!
Western Blot
Human breast cancer cells
1:1000 in 4 degrees overnight
5% BSA in TBS-T

ECL Reagents
I got no signal when using the antibody on western blots. However, when I switched to another antibody (see #9145), it worked great!
No bands appear on western blot!
Do not use antibody 9131 (at least in breast/ovarian cancer cells)! Use 9145 instead!
