Product Name:

Cignal NF-kB reporter (luc) Kit

Catalog Number:

CCS-013L

The goal was to evaluate levels of transcription induced by NF-kB transcription cofactors. The purpose of the research is to observe effects of drugs/agents on such transcription levels. This will help evaluate specificity of certain drugs for certain signaling pathways. This reporter assay kit was chosen because it is the only known luciferase-tagged (since a luminometer was present in our lab) reporter available on the market.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Reporter Assays

Starting Material

Human breast cancer cells

Protocol Overview

Transfect cultured cells using lipofectamine, incubated for 24-48 hrs prior to detection on luminometer

Tips

Must optimize number of cells cultured to ensure efficient transfection

Results Summary

Relative luciferase activity is calculated as quotient of firefly and renilla luciferase (for normalization)
