I am studying pulmonary inflammation following bacterial pneumonia, and used this antibody to define populations and kinetics of immune infiltration into the lung. Mice were infected with Streptococcus, and this antibody was used in an 8-color myeloid staining panel analyzed on a BD Canto II. CD11b is used to gate most of my innate populations - PMN, macrophages, monocytes, and some DCs. Typically I compare it vs CD11c for gating purposes, and this FITC antibody has worked very reliably for my studies.

Murine lungs isolated by gentleMACS and analyzed by flow cytometry. CD11b staining was consistent and reliable, easy detection of neutrophils, macrophages and monocytes.
