Our lab has developed different mouse models to study the efficacy of therapeutic candidates against HIV. These mice models express different human cell surface receptors and some lack mouse restriction factors for HIV. All of these mouse models require genotyping PCR reactions. I use this Polymerase system for most of these genotyping reactions and I find that it works most efficiently out of several that I have tried.

Isolate genomic DNA. Follow protocol from the kit on setting up the PCR reaction. Use the NEB Tm calculator to determine the appropriate temperature and time program for the PCR machine.
