Neural Tissue Dissociation Kit (P) Review

Our lab works on developing different mouse models to study the efficacy of novel vaccines and therapeutic candidates against HIV, as the virus cannot infect rodent cells. One of the models that we have generated expresses three transgenic human host factors that allows successful acute HIV infection in these mice. As part of characterization of this mouse model, we are harvesting microglia from the brains of these mice to test whether they get infected in vitro.
