CD54 is a surface marker, involved in cellular adhesion, inflammation and leukocyte extravasation. It is upregulated activation of monocytes (and other cells). We used it to evaluate the success of the stimulation we applied to our monocytes.

The unstimulated cells (blue histogram) have little/no CD54, while those stimulated with 0.2uM PMA (red histogram) show big upregulation of CD54.
