Product Name:

Anti-Myosin Heavy Chain

Catalog Number:

MAB4470

This antibody was used in a study investigating the myopathic effects of stains using C2C12 myotubes. It has been published in Biochimica et Biophysica Acta in 2015 (Chu et al., Endothelial protective genes induced by statin are mimicked by ERK5 activation as triggered by a drug combination of FTI-277 and GGTI-298, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta. 1850, 1415-25). MAF4470 stained the 4% PFA fixed myotubes very nicely at a dilution of 1:50 for 2 hours followed by secondary staining using Alexa-488.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Immunofluorescence

Sample

Differentiated C2C12 cells

Primary Incubation

1:50, 1hr at room temperature in 2% donor goat serum

Blocking Agent

5% donor goat serum

Secondary Incubation

Alexa-488, 1:400, 2hr at room temperature in 2% donor goat serum

Tertiary Incubation

N/A

Detection

Immunofluorescence (488nm)

Results Summary

Images of C2C12 stained with MAB4470 were capture and cell diameter was quantify using ImageJ. Statin-induced myopathy was analyzed as a reduction in cellular diameter.
