Many people use GAPDH as a so-called Loading Control on Western Blots. This is often a very bad idea because a large body of literature has shown that GAPDH levels can change dramatically depending on what is going on in the cells. However, for measuring GAPDH itself, Western Blotting is very appropriate. We used this antibody to measure GAPDH in HK2 (human kidney immortalized cell line). We selected the MediMabs antibody because we had had good experiences with this company in the past.

This antibody gave us a very good signal, very clean, with no extra bands at other molecular weights. We were very confident that we picked up GAPDH and not other nonspecific bands.
It was a very easy antibody to work with, giving excellent results.
