Product Name:

CryoPlus Storage System

Our lab focuses on the molecular imaging of cancer. To do this, we use cancer cell lines that must be frozen when not in use. We bought this system last year because we were not filling the manual storage often enough, thus we had several dead cell lines. We got this product because we heard good reviews from other labs.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Cell storage

Starting Material

Cell lines and liquid nitrogen

Protocol Overview

We freeze the cell lines in this storage system. For use, you must have liquid nitrogen.

Tips

This takes a full tank every 2 weeks, so be careful...this can add up in cost.

Results Summary

We have never had any issues with this cryopreservation system. It automatically detects when the liquid nitrogen levels get low and refills itself. It makes a loud beeping noise when you need to change the liquid nitrogen tank. We always have another spare tank ready to change out at any time.

Features Summary

It automatically fills itself with liquid nitrogen taking the hassle out of manual systems.

Summary

The Good

Great product, simple to use, automatic system

The Bad

Cost (expensive) and very loud beeping noise.

The Bottom Line

We highly recommend this system for any lab dealing with multiple cell lines at a time. It is much better than using manual storage systems.
