Homogenization is a common sample preparation step prior to the analysis of DNA, RNA, proteins and many other targets. This bead ruptor is very compact instrument which is suitable for various biological tissues or samples for effective homogenization.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

The homogenised retinal and brain samples by this instrument can be used for many downstream applications, like RNA, DNA isolation. Hard tissues like muscle can also be effectively homogenised.

Starting Material

Rat tissues like liver, kidney, retina and muscle

Protocol Overview

Take the tissues samples and keep in provided tubes and add beads. Then set the number of cycles, speed and time. Wait until the process is complete. Take out the tissue use for RAN isolation.

Tips

Use only recommended bead beating tubes and lysing matrices to support homogenization of any sample type

Results Summary

Liver and retinal tissues are homogenized and used for RNA isolation. The quantity and quality of RNA in samples were pretty good.

Features Summary

Hard tissue samples are also effectively homogenized. No cool down procedure may not be required between runs. Can process hundreds of samples per day.
