This kit is used for molecular cloning to transform plasmids. The competent cells in this kit provide high quality plasmid DNA but do not contain all the features of more expensive competent cells.

Thaw 50 ul competent cells and then add plasmid DNA (or pUC19 control plasmid). Incubate for 30 min. on ice. Heat shock for 20 sec. Chill on ice for 2 min. Add 950 ul media (SOC, LB etc...) and incubate for 60 min. at 37 C. Plate onto agar plates.
Heat shock at the optimal temp and time for maximal transformation
This kit is good for transforming plasmids and comes with the appropriate positive control with pUC19.
