Boster Biological Technology Co

Product Name:

Mouse GDNF ELISA Kit

Catalog Number:

EK0935

We used this kit and the BDNF kit, because we were looking at neurogenesis within the hippocampus. We used the ELISA to complement our immunohistochemistry. It was easy to optimize the kits and the instructions were extremely easy to follow. Additionally, the instructions do not include using samples from tissue homogenates, but we did and the plates came out great. This product was selected after speaking with a representative about it at a conference. I am extremely glad we decided to go with this kit.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Detecting GDNF

Starting Material

Brain Tissue (Hippocampus)

Protocol Overview

The tissue was homogenized in lysis buffer and spun down for 3 minutes at 3000g. The supernatant was diluted in sample diluent buffer. The protocol was followed exactly from this point forward.

Tips

Make sure you are not preparing the reagents too early. The protocol has specific times for how long the reagents are good for after they are mixed.

Results Summary

The plate was placed in a plate reader and the absorbance read. A standard curve was also used and the concentration of GDNF calculated.

Additional Notes

Summary

The Good

Easy to follow directions.

The Bad

The reagents can't be prepared before you begin the experiment. You have to keep an eye on the time and prepare them as you need them.

The Bottom Line

This is a great kit. The protocol was easy to follow and optimize. We will be using these kits again.
