This system is used in conjunction with IR antibodies to perform western blots. This system allows to probe for multiple proteins at once due to the different color secondaries. Machine takes good pictures and comes with analysis software.
Western Blot
Probed western blot membrane
Load membrane with IR antibodies onto the CLx. Select western blot parameters e.g. quality and size of the scan area. Take the picture and then remove the membrane.
Minimize scan area to minimize image taking time
Western blots on this machine are quite easy and look pretty good. It also has the ability to probe multiple proteins at once, which is a time saver. The only drawback to this machine is the time it takes to produce an image. It can take 30 min. not even at the highest quality setting. Other than that it is a good alternative to traditional HRP western blots. Note: the secondary antibodies used will keep their signal for at least weeks unlike HRP.
