This antibody was used to perform immunofluorescence microscopy on SW480 cells transfected with a V5-containing construct. This antibody was compared to Novex V5 mouse monoclonal antibody (R960-CUS). The antibody was specific and showed clear immunoreactive staining that was similar to the Novex antibody.

THEtm V5 incubated 1 hour in PBS 1% + normal goat serum +0.1% Triton X-100 at a dilution of 1:500

Goat anti-mouse alexa 488 (Life Technologies) at a dilution of 1:500 for 1 hour

Tertiary Incubation

Phalloidin Alexa 568

Detection

Epifluorescence microscopy, Nikon 100X objective

Results Summary

This antibody worked well for immunofluorescence microscopy. The immunoreactivity was strong and specific to transfected cells. Untransfected cells showed little to know immuno-reactivity. This antibody is a good alternative to the more expensive anti-V5 from Life Technologies (R960-CUS)
