I used this ethidium bromide solution to detect DNA in agarose gels. I used it to detect PCR, plasmid digest fragments, etc.
Staining DNA gels
Plasmid DNA
After running DNA on an agarose gel, post-stain with a solution of water and ethidium bromide for 15 minutes. Detect DNA bands with ultraviolet light (254 nm).
Dilute solution to 0.5 ug/ml
After post-staining the gel I saw bright DNA bands with very low background in the gel.
