Product Name:

Nocodazole

Catalog Number:

sc-3518

Cell reprogramming using nocodazole is a very old method and works very well with any given type of cells. This is an antimitotic agent that disrupts microtubules by binding to β‑tubulin and also induces apoptosis in several normal and tumor cell lines. Here, this is mainly used to capture the cells while dividing so as to understand the symmetry of the cells.

Protocol Overview

Cancer cells are treated with Nocodazole at 10 nm/mL concentration and then the cells are fixed in PFA to see the division

Tips

Wash cells thoroughly before addition.

Results Summary

Cells that were dividing were stuck at the mitotic phase and some of them had a clear division. As seen in the picture, this is an asymmetric cell division with some cells having different protein expression than the other half.
