The long-term goal of our lab is to understand the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying brain development and diseases. My work is to study the role of microglia in axon regeneration upon injury. ‍CX3CR1 is a cell surface receptor which is highly expressed in microglia but not its ‍precursor monocyte. Therefore, we use ‍CX3CR1 as a marker to indicate microglia activation after spinal cord injury by western blot. This product was used to test whether CX3CR1 expression level is up-regulated upon spinal cord lesion, the lysate from different lesion time points were subjected to Western blot analysis.

Results Summary

The Western blot showed a single band at the expected size, 50kDa. The expression level was upregulated from day 1 to day 10, and slightly decreased on day 21.
