The long-term goal of our lab is to understand the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying brain development and disases. My work is to study the role of microglia in axon regenreation upon injury. CX3CR1 is a cell surface receptor which is highly expressed in microglia but not its precursor monocyte. Therefore, we use CX3CR1 as a marker to indicate microglia activation after spinal cord injury by immunohistochemistry in vivo. This product was used to detect whether lesion induce upregulation of CX3CR1; spinal cord was stained for Aviva Systems Biology CX3CR1 antibody.
