Our group used this product for detection of myostatin in plasma from healthy human research subjects pre and post atrophic stimuli. High coefficient of variability (as high as 50 %) and intermittent antibody specificity limited use, following testing we do not use this product.

Followed manufacturer instructions. Noteworthy, unlikely other commercial kits, this kit does not suggest a acidification step for plasma pre detection.

Results showed very high coefficient of variability in both samples and standards. Some kits results read negative values for human blood and also for spiked recombinant myostatin.
Attached image shows samples (Lanes 1 - 3). Lanes 4 - 12 show samples, both human plasma, C2C12 cell extract, and independentely sourced recombinant myostatin.

I wouldn't buy this again. Other companies make more reliable kits that are cheaper.
