Gradient gels have several advantages for protein separation regarding the sharpness of bands and allowing to separate wider range of proteins. Pouring gradient is very labor intensive and requires lot of effort.According to my past 6 yrs of western blot experience NuPAGE Novex 4-12% gels are best so far. These gradient gels can be used even if gradient is not required. It gives precise and clean results .I have used other companies including Bio rad, have poured gels by myself but finally satisfied with this product. The other good thing with these gels is that they do not break or dry out for months even if there date is expired.I never had issue with the wells broken or gel breaking during handling. They are cast in a manner even a new person can handle very well. There gel running assembly is another convenient apparatus that saves time and effort. These gels are good even when you actually don't need. Using Novex precast gels I can see the same distance between my bands and they do not merge in each other. The well are very well separated and running even at higher volts does not effect the shape of my bands. However I am showing another gel pic where clearly you can see that at similar conditions the protein bands merge

Shows very clean results, gels do not break or crack while running
Its worth using these gels even in labs that pour gels to save money, these gels are much more cost effective and save time
