In this video Dr. Keith Wood, Promega Corporation, discusses tools for protein analysis that work inside the living cell, and enable collection of accurate, quantitative data in a native environment. The NanoLuc system enables observation of protein behaviors and the binding interactions of those proteins with newly developed synthetic molecules in the drug industry. NanoLuc is smaller than traditional luciferases, yet produces more luminescence, allowing it to track events that occur at a low levels or rare events in cells. Due to its small size and stability it is well suited as a protein fusion marker, allowing luminescence to be tied not just to genetic activities, but directly to protein activities inside a cell.
