The Agilent Physiological Monitoring and Gating System is designed to meet the physiological needs for anesthetized specimens in the MR environment. Pre-clinical research is dependent upon a stable, controlled specimen environment. The system consists of data acquisition modules located near the sample in the imaging magnet bore and a control/gating module connected to a PC located near the operator console. The sophisticated design enables precision monitoring of relevant physiological parameters such as ECG, sample temperature, respiration, and blood pressure. Finely tuned sample temperature control via a feedback loop is possible and data capture and manipulation is carried out intuitively and efficiently. The individual monitoring and gating modules are not available separately.

Both the electrical parameters of the tail cuff sensor as well as the cuff air are selected with this single knob. The Model 65-12 has the capabilities to test up to 12 animals at a time. The rear panel has the terminated Binary Coded Decimal (BCD) parallel output (voltage free contacts) allows on line data handling equipment to recognize the sequential number of the test position. The scanner accepts 12 air tubing ports in the rear, and 12 plugs from the sensors. The front air ports connect to the pump or inflation bulb and the input plug to the amplifier.

The photoelectric sensor, light source and sensor are built into a one unit which attaches to any one of the IITC restrainers with nylon handscrews. All the sensors are nonmagnetic. They are extremely sensitive in detecting pulses due to IITC's superior desing and knowledge of mouse and rat blood pressure measurements. The ambient temperature that a reading can be taken starts at 29 degrees C. The maximum temperature needed for a test is usually 32 degrees C. for rats and 34 degrees C. for mice. The systolic readings are within five mmHg of Cannulation and Telemetry. Operation is simple and easy. With practice, animals can be measured in minutes allowing for high throughput. The animal is placed in a restrainer and a cuff put on the tail. Then, by simply pressing the START key, heart rate, systolic BP, mean BP, and diastolic BP are automatically measured. The monitor can be set to repeat every 3-99 minutes, perfect for regular BP monitoring and recording throughout surgery. A printout shows data immediately, and said data can be exported to a computer via a serial port.
Includes built -in printer, 9" display, Measuring Stand, choice of Cuff-Pulse Sensor, choice of Animal Holder, and 5 rolls of Thermo Chart Paper.
