Description
Product Characteristics:
PCLKC (Protocadherin LKC) belongs to the protocadherin gene family, a subgroup of the cadherin superfamily. It is predominantly expressed in liver, kidney and colon tissues, and has a role in contact inhibition at the lateral surface of epithelial cells. It is a candidate tumor suppressor.
Subcellular location: Cell membrane
Synonyms: FLJ20124, FLJ20383, MGC163154, PC LKC,PC-LKC, Protocadherin LKC.
Target Information: This gene is a member of the protocadherin family, which represents a subset of the larger cadherin superfamily. The members of the protocadherin family encode non-classical cadherins that function as calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion molecules. This protocadherin represents a new candidate for tumor suppression. Alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode the same protein have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2010]
