Description
Product Characteristics:
YAP1 (also known as Yes associated protein 1) was originally identified as a transcription factor that binds to the SH3 domain of the YES kinase (a Src protein kinase). More recently it has been identified as a candidate oncogene that promotes tumorigenesis in many different types of cancer.
Subcellular location: Cytoplasm, Nucleus
Synonyms: 65 kDa Yes associated protein, YAp 1, YAp-1, YAP 65, YAP, YAP2, YAP65, Yes associated protein 1 65 kDa, Yes associated protein 1, Yes associated protein 2, YKI.
Target Information: The encoded gene product presumably interacts with YY1 protein\, however, its exact function is not known. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
