Description

Product Characteristics: ERBB2IP (Erbb2-interacting protein) acts as an adapter for the receptor ERBB2, in epithelia. By binding the unphosphorylated Tyr-1248 of receptor ERBB2, it may contribute to stabilize this unphosphorylated state. ERBB2IP (Erbb2-interacting protein) interacts with ERBB2, BPAG1 and ITGB4. It may favor the localization of ERBB2, by restricting its presence to the basolateral membrane of epithelial cells. ERBB2IP is also found to interact with ARVCF and delta catenin.
Target Information: The protein encoded by this gene resides in the nucleus and may play a role in the assembly of the nuclear lamina, and thus help maintain the structural organization of the nuclear envelope. It may function as a receptor for the attachment of lamin filaments to the inner nuclear membrane. Mutations in this gene are associated with dilated cardiomyopathy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
