Fig 1: ACF inhibited the generation of fibrosis in the injured corneal stroma. Tissues were harvested at day 7 and 28 for immunohistochemistry evaluation. The immunofluorescent staining of a-SMA (red) and fibronectin (red) in corneal stroma were much higher in PBS treated control group (A,B). The mRNA level of a-SMA and fibronectin at day 7 post-injury was consistent with the immunofluorescent staining result (E,F). The infiltration of CD45+ leucocytes in the corneal tissues was evaluated by immunofluorescent staining [(C), green] and flow cytometry (D,G), respectively. No significant difference was observed between the two groups at day 2 and 7 after the injury. Data were presented as the mean ± SEM. Scale bar: 10 µm.
