RNA Transfection Reagents

RNA transfection reagents bind, stabilize, and promote the cellular uptake of various RNA molecules, such as siRNA, mRNA, miRNA, and shRNA. Effective transfection of RNA into eukaryotic cells enables basic research in gene expression as well as in vivo applications for drug discovery and development. RNA transfection reagents can be formulated with liposome complexes, lipids, non-lipid molecules, or polymers such as polyethyleneimine (PEI). When browsing for different choices in reagents, look for documented transfection efficiency in certain cell types or cell lines. Also, note any known toxicity, compatibility with serums and media, animal-derived components, and shelf life.
