The Electronic von Frey (EVF) is a device used to measure sensory and pain thresholds. They are used in studying allodynia, or pain due to a stimulus that does not normally provoke pain. EVF devices allow researchers to measure, store, display, and even calculate test readings based on the amount of pressure applied. Von Frey devices can vary by the probe intensity (in grams).
