Ferro Solutions

Founded in 2002 by scientists from MIT, Ferro Solutions provides off-the-shelf and custom designed systems and components to wirelessly power or recharge devices in challenging applications. These inductive power systems have been used in neuroscience and psychology labs conducting long-term, social experiments with freely-moving animals.

The WPT-05 is an FCC/IC compliant wireless power transmitter that can be used in an arena or under a cage. Power is harvested by small, light-weight receivers that provide power regardless of their orientation to the transmitted field. This characteristic makes them very attractive to researchers using small animals in a freely-moving, freely-behaving set-up, and it helps deliver power in environments and applications where other approaches have failed.

Ferro Solutions has partnered with Kendall Research Systems (KRS), to distribute the FireFly Wireless Optogenetics System. Ask us how this system can enable new experimental designs and support the exciting research represented at the Experimental Biology poster sessions.

Ferro Solutions began with one SBIR contract with the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and has worked on projects with the Army, National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Our start in R&D helps us to solve our clients’ challenging problems and to deliver robust commercial systems and components for use in research, industry, and consumer markets.

The company is located in the Boston suburb of Woburn, MA.

Please visit us in booth 967 at the Experimental Biology exhibition and on the web at www.ferrosi.com
