Inspired by Ion Torrent’s success at shrinking next-generation sequencing technology into a benchtop instrument, Jonathan Rothberg founded Quantum-Si in 2013 to bring the same semiconductor technology to protein sequencing. Today, Quantum-Si now has over 1,000 patents issued and applications pending, in addition to launching our groundbreaking next-generation protein sequencing technology platform, Platinum™.
Quantum-Si entered a new phase of development with an initial public offering in June 2021 (QSI on the NASDAQ) and, with the launch of Platinum and continued expansion and new product development, has entered a period of rapid growth.
