Anti-MPP5 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The MPP5 antigen is another term for the human protein protein associated with LIN7 1, MAGUK p55 family member, encoded by the PALS1 gene. The protein is reported to play a role in tight junction biogenesis and in the establishment of cell polarity in epithelial cells. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 675 residues and a mass of 77.3 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi and cell membrane and it is noted to be expressed at the outer limiting membrane in the retina. The MPP5 protein is a member of the MAGUK protein family. A number of MPP5 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
