Anti-Zic-1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Zic-1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ZIC1 gene, which encodes Zic family member 1. This protein is known to function in brain development and cell differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of Zic-1 has a canonical amino acid length of 447 residues and a protein mass of 48.3 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the hippocampus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and caudate. Other names for this target antigen include BAIDCS, CRS6, and ZIC. Western Blot is the most common application for the Zic-1 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
