Anti-SGY1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SGY1 is a known alias name of the protein dickkopf like acrosomal protein 1, encoded by the DKKL1 gene in humans. This 242-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in fertilization by facilitating sperm penetration of the zona pellucida. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles and is secreted of the cell and features N-glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the testis.
