Anti-tachykinin 4 (hemokinin) antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the tachykinin 4 (hemokinin) antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TAC4 gene, which encodes tachykinin precursor 4. This protein is known to function in inflammatory response pathways and the regulation of intracellular calcium, among other biological roles. The human version of tachykinin 4 (hemokinin) has a canonical amino acid length of 113 residues and a protein mass of 12.3 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be a secreted protein. Other names for this target antigen include tachykinin-4, tachykinin-4, and endokinin.
