Anti-PEPP1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PEPP1 is a known alias name of the protein pleckstrin homology domain containing A4, encoded by the PLEKHA4 gene in humans. This 779-amino acid residue protein is known to bind specifically to phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PtdIns3P), but not to other phosphoinositides. It is localized to the membrane and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in melanoma.
