Anti-LLN2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LLN2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the DERL3 gene, which encodes derlin 3. This protein is reported to be a functional component of endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) for misfolded lumenal glycoproteins, but not that of misfolded nonglycoproteins. The human version of LLN2 has a canonical amino acid length of 235 residues and a protein mass of 26.7 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. LLN2 is a member of the Derlin protein family.
