Anti-Bka antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Bka antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FCF1 gene, which encodes FCF1 rRNA-processing protein. This protein is known to be a part of the small subunit (SSU) processome, first precursor of the small eukaryotic ribosomal subunit. The human version of Bka has a canonical amino acid length of 198 residues and a protein mass of 23.4 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Bka is a member of the UTP23/FCF1 protein family.
