Anti-Thedc1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Thedc1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the OLAH gene, which encodes oleoyl-ACP hydrolase. This protein is said to contribute to the release of free fatty acids from fatty acid synthase (FASN). The human version of Thedc1 has a canonical amino acid length of 265 residues and a protein mass of 29.9 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the testis. Thedc1 is a member of the Thioesterase protein family.
