Anti-Ddc8 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Ddc8 is a known alias name of the protein TIMP metallopeptidase inhibitor 2, encoded by the TIMP2 gene in humans. This 220-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cytokine-mediated signaling pathways, among other biological processes. The protein is secreted and features post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the testis, nasopharynx, fallopian tube, and bronchus.
