Anti-HSPB2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein heat shock protein family B (small) member 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 182 amino acid residues and a mass of 20.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. It is noted to be expressed preferentially in skeletal muscle and heart but not in the lens. A member of a the Small heat shock protein (HSP20) protein family, HSPB2 is believed to regulate the kinase DMPK. Synonyms for this target antigen include Hs.78846, LOH11CR1K, MKBP, heat shock protein beta-2, DMPK-binding protein, and HSP27.
