Anti-ATP5MJ antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ATP synthase membrane subunit j. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 58 amino acid residues and a mass of 6.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. It is a member of the Small mitochondrial proteolipid protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include ATP5MPL, C14orf2, MLQ, MP68, PLPM, and 6.8PL. ATP5MJ gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
